For a complete listing of their meetings & locations at any given month, check out http://www.masonindia.org/roll_events.htm

There is a Masonic Lodge near the Race Course in Pune, on the road that leads to Bishop's School. Its called 'FreeMasons Hall'

Guess what, the lodge has been existence for a very very long time now, and no one's allowed to enter it without permission. In fact, when when my dad was a kid, there used to be rumors that the place is 'Bhoot Bungla' (a haunted mansion) in order to keep people out. Plus, the caretaker of the place would narrate that there are hoods, scary costumes, skulls etc kept inside. The place used to be closed almost all year long, and would open only when there were 'meetings' attended by extremely rich people. God knows the truth behind those rumors.

Anyways, I hear that these days there are some events where people are allowed to go inside, but I guess its at some special events/functions etc.

Check out this amateur video of the place that somebody uploaded on Youtube

Notice how many people have commented on the video calling the uploader an idiot. Makes you wonder how many Masons frequent Youtube :P BTW, the video has almost 10,000 views but only 5 Likes and 7 Dislikes. Sick Dastards!

Here's the exact location of the place:
http://wikimapia.org/#lat=18.5097975&lon=73.8883942&z=19&l=0&m=b

BTW, there's a Masonic Temple in Khadki: http://wikimapia.org/3014618/Masonic-Temple

And, if you're not sick already, here's some disgusting brainwashing propaganda in the News about the place: http://www.punemirror.in/index.aspx?Page=article&sectname=Columnists%20-%20Shyamoli%20Verma&sectid=106&contentid=201007312010073122555572d64b0a4e

The Reality of Life – An Amazing Story

The Reality of Life – An Amazing Story

Once a man saw in his dream that a lion was chasing him. In the dream, the man ran to a tree, climbed on to it and sat on a branch. He looked down and saw that the lion was still there waiting for him.

He then looked to his side where the branch was attached to the tree and saw that two rats were circling around and eating the branch. One rat was black and the other one was white. The branch was going to fall down to the ground very soon.

The man then looked below again with fear and discovered that a big black snake had come and settled directly under him. The snake opened its mouth right under the man waiting for him to fall into it.

The man then looked up to see if there was anything that he could hold on to. On another branch he saw a honeycomb; drops of honey were falling from it.

The man felt he wanted to taste the honey. So he put his tongue out and tasted one of the falling drops of honey. The sweet taste of pure honey amazed him, and so he wanted to taste another drop, and then another, and then another.... and as a result of this, he got lost in the sweetness of the honey, forgetting about the two rats eating at his weakening branch, the lion waiting on the ground and the snake sitting right under him. Then, suddenly the branch broke! Right then he remembered all the dangers and woke up from his sleep.

He couldn’t understand the dream, so he went to a scholar to know its interpretation.

The scholar said, “The lion you saw is your death. It always chases you and goes where ever you go. The two rats, one black and one white, are the night and the day. Black one is the night and the white one is the day. They circle around, coming one after another, to eat your time as they take you closer to death. The big black snake with a dark mouth is your grave. It’s there, just waiting for you to fall into it. The honeycomb is this world and the sweet drops of honey are the luxuries of this world. We like to taste a little of the luxuries of this world and they seem very sweet. Then we want to taste a little more and then more and more. Meanwhile, we get lost in it and forget about our time, we forget about our death and we forget about our grave.
Moral: Life is full of attractions and distractions. And death will come to us without any notice. So prepare for it well in advance so that you won’t have to regret later.

We Await Three Signs of the Last Days

We Await Three Signs of the Last Days
Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani
12 March, 2011   Burton, Michigan
Suhbah at As-Siddiq Mosque(Day after catastrophic earthquake/tsunamis in Japan)

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem
Nawaytu 'l-arba'een, nawaytu'l-'itikaaf, nawaytu'l-khalwah, nawaytu'l-riyaada, nawaytu's-salook, nawaytu'l-'uzlah, nawytu as-siyam lillahi ta'ala fee hadha'l-masjid.

Ati`ullaha wa ati`u 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.

Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (The Glorious Qur'an 4:59)

As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh. Dastoor yaa Sayyidee, madad.

Too many news are coming from here and there. It makes people confused about what they listen to, and it makes people analyze events according to their capacity and understanding. A high school student cannot understand teachings of a university professor; perhaps only PhD students might understand what the professor teaches a higher level of educated people. Still, that high school student may hear and understand some of what is taught, but he cannot analyze its full meaning. Why did the Prophet (s) say about Sayyidina `Ali (r):
أنا مدينة العلم و علي بابها
Ana madeenatul-`ilm wa `aliyyun baabuha.
I am the City of Knowledge and `Ali is its door.

Why didn’t he say, “All the Companions are my door?” He also specified that Sayyidina Abu Bakr is “different” and more “special” than the others, because of something special that settled in his heart, which not everyone can understand. So some might think the literal meaning of, “`Ali is the door of knowledge,” and “a special thing in the heart of Sayyidina Abu Bakr,” is love of the Prophet (s), who also said, “If there would be another prophet after me, it would be `Umar." But then where is Sayyidina Abu Bakr, Sayyidina `Ali, and Sayyidina Uthman (radiy-Allahu `anhum)? It means you need a window to that wali to understand what he is saying.

Sometimes car windows are tinted black, so from outside you cannot see anything, but someone sitting inside can see everything. So not everyone sitting is in the heart of the shaykh and can understand what he is saying. They are sitting outside, where they hear honking and they begin to honk also, and they say things that in reality is not honking, it is what that wali is saying inside to those sitting with him. Honking is for donkeys, to make them move from the middle of the road. Some donkeys, even if you honk and honk, they don't move; they are thinking and stubborn!

What about here? Are there no donkeys? Don't you see them? What do they do with the donkeys here? Some say, “We don't have any donkeys here.” No, it is full of donkeys! (laughter)  So you see the donkey sitting in the road, thinking for fifteen minutes and not moving, and you can honk as much as you like. Some people do not understand about donkeys because they are donkeys. The horse will move, but the donkey will not move. They saw a donkey laughing and asked it, “Why are you laughing?” He said, “Yesterday they made a joke, and just now I understood it!”

So let the donkeys think as much as they like, because they will never understand what a wali says and the wisdom in it. If you don't understand the wisdom, then try to perfect yourself through your awraad, and different obligations,  then you will begin to understand differently. For the horse they put blinders to restrict what it sees and where it looks. You must not put blinders; you must look around and see what is going on, then you can understand what the wali is speaking about.

A wali is not for dunya, he is for akhirah. So don't expect the wali to give you something to build up your dunya, as most of the work Prophet (s) entrusted to him is for your akhirah.

Sayyidina Abayazid al-Bistami (q) intentionally created confusion in order for people to curse him. Do you like to do that? He is one of biggest awliyaaullah, that even Ibn Taymiyya accepted. He went to a village to create confusion, and then he left; that was his mission. When the people cursed him and exiled him, through that he was testing his own patience, to see if he can carry that difficulty or not. People don’t understand that, they only understand that he made a mistake and they went after him. But in reality he was testing his own patience, and anyone who cursed him, he prayed, “Yaa Rabbee! Whoever cursed me, whatever of bad deeds he did, forgive him, and take from my good deeds and give to him.” Does anyone understand that? He did things to make people curse him and when they cursed him, he asked, "Yaa Allah! That person mentioned my name, so raise him!"

Grandshaykh (q) used to say, “If anyone mentions my name, I am obliged to pray for them to reach my level.” So you cannot reach their levels, you cannot reach and understand what they are saying. If an earthquake expert says to you, “There will be an earthquake on April 2nd, so prepare yourself,” if you believe that, what will you do? You will prepare yourself for that day in the best possible way. You might retreat to the jungle, take your food and hide there. When April 2nd comes and there is no earthquake, then what? Do you say the expert (wali) is wrong, or do you say there is wisdom in that?

How is that wali wrong? I am not saying every wali is perfect, but you prepare according to your level. If a doctor says, “You have cancer,” then what do you do? You prepare everything so that when your time comes, you go (with less worry).

Last Wednesday evening in Washington DC,  I gave a suhbat. With Mawlana's baraka, I mentioned as he said, "Say to them that if Allah wants, He will bring this Earth upside down with a huge earthquake that will bring what is up to down and what is down to up.” And we said:
إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا وَأَخْرَجَتِ الْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا وَقَالَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا لَهَا
idha zulzilat al-ardu zilzaalah, wa qaalat al-insaanu maa laha..."
When the Earth quakes with her [last] mighty quaking and [when] the Earth yields up her burdens and man cries out, "What has happened to her?" (az-Zalzala, 99:1-3)

That Allah (swt) will shake this Earth not only from its top but also from its bottom, and make tsunamis come, and human beings will ask, “What is going on?” Mawlana Shaykh said, “Say to them what is going on.” And what happened? That earthquake hit the next day. (The lesson for us is) awliya are entrusted by the Prophet (s) and when they say something in public it has a meaning, and when they say something of spirituality it has a different meaning. When they say something in public, it is the same for a spiritual-level child or adult, as they did not yet reach a level of higher understanding. When awliyaaullah tell you something in private, that is at a different level. So don’t panic about what Mawlana Shaykh said two or three days ago! He wants warn you, so you will prepare yourself and go higher and higher.

If someone says tells you that you have cancer, you will quickly prepare yourself for the outcome. When Mawlana Shaykh says, “Mahdi is coming,” then prepare yourself with food and supplies as there is no time! Really Mawlana wants you and your family to be in a state of perpetual preparation, always anticipating the arrival of Sayyidina Mahdi (a)! First of all, to prepare yourself you make niyyah that you are ready for him, and by that you will be with him! To prepare yourself for relief is worship. Mawlana Shaykh wants to give you that level as if you are already with Sayyidina Mahdi (a), as if you are fulfilling his orders and doing what he wants! Then you will be rewarded with everything you do in your life as if you truly are waiting for him.

There are Signs of the Last Days that we are waiting for. Most of the signs the Prophet (s) predicted did appear, but there are some two signs that did not appear yet. So Mawlana Shaykh wants that you will be written in Mahdi's time. It means, don't panic! If you say to yourself that you are a man or woman of Mahdi’s time, then wherever you are, you will be there with him, by recitation of “Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.” You will be transferred by heavenly power to wherever Mahdi is. So don't panic, just do what you are doing.

Did Mawlana say to those close to him to stop working? (No.) Then why are you running in different directions to find out what to do? Mawlana Shaykh said three signs must occur before Mahdi appears. Awliyaaullah are waiting for them and if these three signs did not come, still we are waiting for them. Grandshaykh `AbdAllah al-Fa'iz ad-Daghestani (q) mentioned them. One of them is that a big mountain near Bursa will explode with ashes and red lava running to Istanbul , putting it in fire. Did that happen? No! So we await that.

Second, Cairo is going to sink underwater from the Aswan Dam, which did not exist when Sayyidina Ibn `Arabi's predicted in his book, Futuhat al-Makkiyya, that the Nile will flood and water will rise to cover the minaret of the Muhammad `Ali Mosque in Cairo. Grandshaykh (q) said there is a sign on the minaret of that mosque, which is very high, where the water is going to reach. Not until the 1960’s did anyone know about the Aswan Dam, which Gamal Abdel Nasser built. Today we don't know how much of it is eaten, that it will collapse and flood the area. So I am worried about the people of Cairo, but first the destruction of Istanbul must occur.

The third sign is when Cyprus sinks into the sea; that is the prediction. So as long as Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani is in Cyprus, when he leaves Cyprus, then you may panic, call and send messages!

So put things together! When a wali, particularly Sultan al-Awliya, Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim al-Haqqani says something, you must pay attention. Also, when Mawlana Shaykh moves he it will not be to Istanbul; he will move to Sham ash-Shareef. Why aren’t his two sons moving (away from Cyprus and Istanbul)? That means prepare yourself and get the reward, but don't panic and ask what we have to do!

If you don't understand Mawlana Shaykh, you will never understand. I am waiting for fifty years for Mahdi (a), so listen and understand. If you live a thousand years or even one month in preparation for Mahdi’s arrival, then it is the same as someone who lived one month. That means for all mureeds who are waiting, it is going to open a big reward. That opening appeared in Rabi al-Awwal, that who is waiting for Mahdi will be dressed with special rewards and lights from Prophet (s) and Mahdi (a)!
When the three signs we mentioned appear, still Mahdi will not appear. First there will be a huge battle between two parties that will dispute one issue. That must occur before Mahdi arrives. That will not be between the Middle East and Europe, but between two big world powers. That is a prediction from the Prophet (s) about Signs of Last Days, that a huge war will continue for three months.

So now you have three signs that have to appear: the Bursa Mountain is going to blow up and lava will come to Istanbul; Cairo will be flooded and water will reach to top of Mohammad `Ali Mosque's minaret; and then Cyprus will disappear. Then there will be a big war for three months. After that, they will come to Istanbul and with takbeer and the walls will fall down, like during a fire if you recite takbeer the fire goes down (extinguishes). So at that time, by the power of Mahdi, all technology will stop.

There will be those with Mahdi; those with the Anti-Christ will be destroyed. Don't panic and worry, because by the power of “Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem” you will be anywhere! Don’t worry about me travelling for several months; that is not a problem. Mawlana Shaykh asked me to be with him for three months; there are things Mawlana Shaykh wants to say to me, and insha-Allah khayr.

Just remember: there are signs which must come and at any moment, but there is space between them, and then an additional three months. The eruption of a volcano near Istanbul, then Cairo sinking until water reaches the minaret at the Muhammad `Ali Mosque, and the sinking of Cyprus. Still Mawlana Shaykh is sitting there in his jubba, eating and meeting with people. If that is happening, Mawlana must move. If he is moving, he must also move his whole tribe that is in that house! So relax, as all that will take time.
What Mawlana Shaykh wants to say is, “Don't come and visit in Cyprus.” One month ago, before Tunisia, Egypt, and Bahrain protests erupted, before the earthquake, we went to Chile and Argentina. Some people came there from Brazil, and said they wanted to visit Mawlana Shaykh. They sent a message three or four weeks ago. By then only Tunisia and Egypt protests started.. I told `Ali to send a message to them, "No one come to visit Mawlana Shaykh." Why? Not because of Mahdi coming, as the signs didn't happen yet, but Mawlana doesn't want people to be stuck there. There will be a no-fly zone there, and aircraft carriers offshore, so how you can go and come back? You will be stuck, and your family is in Brazil or Argentina.

That is why, if you understand correctly, he said, “If people are a few hours away from me they can come for three days.” That means as near as London. Why did he allow the people to come for three days? Cyprus will be an island between those big vessels, so they can run quickly to their countries.
This means don't worry or panic, relax! If you like, send us a message and we can explain. May Allah (swt) make us to understand the awliya.
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.

Are You Liberated or Living B-rated?

I wrote an article a few years ago, titled "Liberated  or  Live::B-rated?" about how the status of women in our society is being reduced to being that of mere puppets in the hands of those who wish to benefit from their gender. Today I came across a news piece titled "Semi Naked Women Protest Censorship" and was disgusted beyond words. Thought I'd post my article below here as a refresher:

____________________________________________________________

Well here I was this morning, trying to Login into AOL to check my emails, and after entering my username-password combo there appeared the 'Today on AOL' page —a webpage specially designed to give you a small peek into the plethora of information about what's going on in the world today (a.k.a. NEWS) and how well-versed AOL's servers are with it.
So I see 4 tabs on that page (I'm in the 'basic' view which doesn't hog too much of memory from my web browser, and hence I have tabs instead of a Next/Previous button toolbar) namely News, Sports, Entertainment and Videos. (See screenshot of content in the last tab here). Now, as if the link titled Austria's real-life sex horror story caught on amateur camera on the Videos' tab wasn't revealing enough of the America On Line mindset of 'sex sells' (fathom a news headline that spells P.O.R.N.), I decided I 'd rather check out the News that they have for today (news would definitely NOT mean free porn, I thought to myself ); and VOILA! with what are we greeted with on the very first page!

Astaghfirullah! (Forgive my sin Oh Lord!) THIS is what is news to the world? Women revealing themselves to the state of when there is NOTHING left to hide at all? I fail to realize how the 'Model way to protest...' can create awareness about anything at all (err... almost anything)? 'Sex sells' they say, but does it bring about any just cause if you're naked on the street calling for some attention? In doing so guaranteed a LOT of glances and attention (for all the wrong reasons!) from the passerbys, a lot of whom might even move closer just to have a better look (at your protesting-placards you might want to claim now? Who do you think you are fooling?), but does it help solve the problem you are protesting about? Are hungry kids being fed in Sudan? Homeless elders being taken back in? Rape victims given better treatment? Is G.W. Bush going to stop his reign of terror in Iraq and Afghanistan? OR are women now going to be given a better position in society??? (sheesh! the last one was a little too much of an irony BTW).

Think about it, a few years down the line, when your kids (that is, if someone marries you after all this and legitimately has kids with you) see these pics of yours on the internet or somewhere else, will they love you more, love you less or be downright ashamed of the worthless tramp you've been? And what about when they also discover these pics besides many similar others, hidden deep inside password-protected folders on their friends' hard drives and the likes?

Now there is an organization in this modern, liberated, non-conservative world that we live in today (if 'conservative' is being exactly the opposite of what they are doing here, let us proclaim conservativeness and atleast live a life that assures the dignity of our mothers and sisters!). An organization for ethical treatment of animals which has time and again used disgustingly cheap tactics (of course there is BIG money in it, but then money's not what actually defines cheap right?) like these to draw attention towards itself and its so-called heart-felt activities. 1.8 million members and still counting, this US-based organization (name withheld to prevent ANY advertising and also to save you people from doing a google search and getting pics like these in front of your very eyes!) seems to specialize ONLY in making women believe that they are doing excellent service to animals and humanity by taking off their clothes and posing (semi?) nude in front of people and their perverted cameras! They make women believe that if they do so, people will start treating animals more kindly because each time they see a mis-treated animal it will remind them of a naked woman?

Imagine your grumbly sweaty neighbourhood guy petting his doggy late morning tomorrow, giving it a nice juicy piece of bone and telling it in an unimaginably sweet voice “Coochie Coochie Coo... Today I'm gonna give you the love you deserve because a long-legged naked woman was holding a placard across her hand that said Love your doggie and be a better human in the eyes of God. If it weren't for her intriguingly nude anatomy, an heart-warming sight out there in the cold morning, I'd never have realized that there was a placard about being kind to dogs in her other hand. So go on eat this piece of bone my sweet little doggie; who knows that very lady might just be passing by and might chance to see me treating you kindly. Oh I'm gonna go to heaven for thinking of a naked woman while I'm feeding my dog. This life is simply great!”.

Wake up ladies, it ain't happening that way. Because the way I see it (and any other human being of sane mind would), the only animal that you're doing service to is the beast in the heart of the man! That's the only one which is going to derive gratification from the fact that he didn't have to do any effort at all in order to get you to drop your veils! What service to humanity indeed you have done! You say a free-minded, bold westerner you are eh? You think veiling up the woman is just part of an "old-fashioned fundamentalist religion" that's bent on degrading her status in society? Have you had the chance to have a read of your own scriptures? (Anyone making a claim from Judaism?).

Think about it, a world where Satan has spread his evil tentacles so far, corrupting the minds of men and women to such an extent that the women —the ones to be kept safe from evil prying eyes (for we all know how much damage even a casual glance you know where can cause to a woman's dignity and self-respect)— are themselves ready to take it all off in the name of liberty, freedom of speech, protests for equality etc. etc... In reality, all that these contaminated terms do is to degrade the woman's position in the society to mere objects of lust and sexual gratification. Is this the new idea of freedom and equality? Is this how we shall gauge our successes, on the basis of how easy it is to make a woman shed her clothes and still not let her feel bad about it? Are we progressing ahead towards uplifting the woman or are we going backwards into the dark ages again?

The Greek civilization is still considered the most glorious of all ancient civilizations by many a people. Under this very so-called ‘glorious’ system, women were deprived of all rights and were looked down upon. In Greek mythology, an imaginary woman called Pandora is supposed to be the root cause of misfortune for all human beings. The Greeks also considered women to be subhuman and inferior to men. Though the chastity of women was precious, and women were held in high esteem, the Greeks were later overwhelmed by ego and sexual perversions. Prostitution had become a regular practice amongst all classes of Greek society! Doesn't this seem a lot too closer to where our world is headed too?

As an emminent speaker Dr. Zakir Naik once put it, “the western talk of women’s liberalization is nothing but a disguised form of exploitation of her body, degradation of her soul, and deprivation of her honour! Western society claims to have uplifted women, but on the contrary it has actually degraded them to the status of concubines, mistresses and society butterflies who are mere tools in the hands of pleasure seekers and sex marketeers, hidden behind the colourful screen of ‘art’ and ‘culture’.

Race towards the your recognition in society because of your talents and skills my dear sisters, and not because of how much of skin you are willing to show for some justifiable cause. An interesting >article has a very nice answer the oft-asked yet very rhetorical questions on why muslim women cover themselves up. It says “...by covering our beauty, we are evaluated for our intelligence and skills instead of looks and sexuality. Many women who cover are filled with dignity and self-esteem and are happy to be identified as Muslim women. By wearing hijab the woman is concealing her sexuality but allowing her femininity to shine...

I know the title will cause offence to some, but perhaps it’s time that they learn to swallow their own medicine of ‘free’ speech, that is frequently used to insult Islam and Muslims; and in the spirit of free speech, I am going to elaborate on the title, rather than throw crass insults at an entire group of people. Thus, based on the example of some or even many, I won’t be tempted to class all white males as rapists or serial killers and make the tenuous link to their religious or racial identity. Those who are committed to free speech would be expected to persevere and remain, whereas the bigots and the nasty foulmouthed Islamophobes have probably already exited the room. Anyway, without further ado, let us proceed.

Everyone knows the bifurcation of, the Muslim terrorists versus the West; just the choice of words implies the latter is the ‘innocent victim’ fighting terrorism. Similarly another division exists, the Muslims as oppressors of women, and the West as the flag bearer of women’s rights. Remember, this women issue was one of the pretexts for the Afghan invasion. However, ironically, the US armed forces are filled with rapists, as their statistics and conduct shows. Who in their right mind would even trust the sick soldiers of Abu-Ghraib to guard their daughters and mothers for a few hours? When you see the behavior and the mindset of these soldiers in the numerous YouTube videos, it makes you cringe with disgust!

Therefore, consider, how many rapists have been found in any major Islamic movement, against the numerous rapists that fills the US armed forces? Yet, paradoxically the former stands accused of being oppressors of women, and the latter as liberators. The thought is amusing, because no matter how much you verbally demonise or promote, a group or an individual, the deeds will speak louder and expose the paradox.

One would expect rape to be almost non-existent in societies that claims to be the leaders in upholding and promoting women’s rights, but the reality shows otherwise. There is a huge gap between the political rhetoric of women rights and the actual values that determines the actions of rapists. Noble values like women’s rights mean nothing to hot blooded males who are in a situation to commit the offence. Thus, rape is pervasive in all spheres of society, from the date-rape of teenagers to the brutal serial rapists stalking the streets at night. Even men in position of power and influence, stand accused. The Italian Prime Minister is going through the trial for having sex with an underage Muslim girl, committing statutory rape. Now, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the head of International Monetary Fund (IMF) is up for trial on charges of rape and numerous sexual assaults.

Given the statistics, can we use Jack Straw’s line of argument and pose the question: is there is a problem with white European men, who prey on women, see them as easy meat? No, because rapists come in various colours; the common factor is the mindset and values that drives them.

In terms of contributing factor, people fiercely debate the provocative dress worn by women. Of course, no matter how she dresses that does not mean she deserves to be raped, but the rapists do not see it that way. Similarly if I leave valuables in my car that does not mean my car should be broken into, however, the thief would not be persuaded by such arguments. Indeed, the empirical evidence shows, women in modest clothing like Hijab or Niqab, rarely gets targeted for rape. By bowing to feminist pressure, the society at large continues to ignore the role of women in agitating the male instincts; remember only in an ideal world, one could be act freely without facing any repercussion.

With so many rapists and potential rapists (past surveys have revealed many men would carry out the act if the opportunity prevailed), there is never going to be a shortage of support to ban clothing like the Niqab and the Hijab. Wasn’t it the men in France who led the campaign to ban the Niqab? I am pretty sure Mr Dominic Strauss-Kahn is a supporter of the ban.
After the furore caused by Ken Clarke’s remark about “serious rape” (implying some rapes not so serious), politicians of all persuasion coming forward to profess that they view rape as a serious crime, yet, they are almost oblivious to the light punishment prescribed for such crimes.

If rape is a serious crime, it should carry a serious level of punishment as a minimum. On the contrary, the minimum level of punishment prescribed is five years, with early plea that gets reduced to half or a third, and the offender is likely to serve half of that, just over a year. Such light punishment implies there is tacit permit to tolerate such things; it seems rape is treated more like minor offence, almost legal. What happened to being the flag bearer of women’s rights?

In contrast, under Sharia laws, rape is classed as one of the worst crimes, Hiraba (waging war against society), and accordingly serious punishment is prescribed, a slow execution that can involve an agonizing death. Going back to Jack Straw, the answer for those Muslim rapists is to apply the Sharia Laws on them, and see how fast they vanish. You will then have to work hard to convert the rest of society to see the merit in ‘Muslamic’ (Shariah) law! Remember, proper legal enforcement is only one side of the equation, modification of our (men and women) behaviour, is the other side of the equation.
